OPERATION: Christmas Blessing 09!

This year for Christmas we are reaching out to be a blessing for our community! The Word commands us to do good unto all men, especially to those that are of the "household of faith". If you know of someone that is a member or may attend Lifeway Church that is in need this Christmas season please let Pastor Sheila know by sending an email to srhodes@lifewaychurch.us. Furthermore, if you know of someone that lives near our Church (or close proximity) that would be blessed by our giving please get us this info as well.

We are NOW receiving canned goods (and other items) in order to build "blessing boxes" for those in need. Please bring your donations to church and deposit them in the receptacle located in the large Fellowship/Class Room.

We are also purchasing 10 Angel Food boxes for $30 a piece. These boxes along with the canned and boxed items that are received will be used to bless 10 families in the area.

NOTE: If you would like to be a part of the distribution teams please save Friday December 18th evening. We will distribute the Blessing Boxes then. Also, please sign up on the website forum and let us know that you are planning to help us distribute. THANKS! (CLICK HERE to Sign Up)

Word Supply Project Update

Purpose: "Provide a CD copy at the end of the service to everyone that wants one FREE of charge!" (as well as anyone that contacts us wanting one...FREE)

Price: $590 for Duplicator (will duplicate 7 copies at a time in 4 minutes CLICK HERE for details)

Current: $245 has been given to date! (Praise God half way there!)

Pray and believe with us that the need will be met. There is a SOW A SEED Box on the Word Supply shelf in the back of the Sanctuary that you can put your seed in or you can send an offering designated to "Word Supply CD Project" or write "CD Project" on your offering envelope. PRAY IN 2010!

Join us on New Years Eve for a great time of fellowship, food and praying in the New Year.

We will begin at 8 pm and finish just after midnight as we pray in the New Year. (Please bring finger foods)

JANUARY 6th we will begin a new session entitled - "Foundations of Faith". For this session we will be using the Study Book - "Getting a Grip on the Basics" which you can purchase at the Church for $5.

Gift Giver

We began a new series this past Sunday morning entitled, "Desire Spiritual Gifts". We are looking at the power of God through the Holy Spirit in our lives.

There are many reasons that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the church when He ascended to heaven. One reason is that we would walk in power and be able to operate in the gifts of the Spirit!

Jesus said in Acts 1 to His disciples that they would receive power after they received the Holy Spirit. Where is the power in today's church? Where are the gifts of the Spirit as Paul spoke about in 1 Corinthians 12? Why are we not desiring the gifts of the Spirit like we are instructed but instead desiring more things to tantalize our senses?

We need to discover more about the Gift Giver! He wants us to know Him in all of His power...so that we can walk in that same power! We want people to know that we have been with Jesus, right?!

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus." - Acts 4:13 NKJV  

Let's spend some time with the Gift Giver today.

• Pray for Mayor Linda Blechinger, Council Members and City Employees of Auburn that they would walk in wisdom and favor. And that they would continue to create an atmosphere for growth and change in our city.
  
• Pray for all the churches in Auburn, Carl, Winder, Dacula that they would experience a supernatural spiritual hunger like never before.
  
  
• Pray for our Troops and their families.
  
  
• Pray for missionaries everywhere that they would experience the provision of God to continue to preach and teach the gospel. And that God would continue to protect those who are in dangerous situations.
  


• Our new facilities - growth numerically, spiritually and financially


• Youth Ministry and Children's Ministry, growth and direction


• Barrow and Gwinnett County businesses would prosper
