Surrender

In a day and age where everyone looks out for “number one” (self), there is something that we must do as Christians in order to accomplish God’s plan for our lives.

Each morning we must surrender. Give up and give in to the Spirit of God.

It doesn’t take a long time, but it does require more than just saying it. It doesn’t require repeating some authorized, formulated prayer from a book. It does require words spoken from the heart with every ounce of faith we have. (Side note: Everything that we do should be in faith because without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is not something exclusive, weird or an extreme doctrine…it is as natural as breathing – believing with your heart and confessing with your mouth)

Jesus gave us an example of the surrender that we should experience daily.

While in the garden of Gethsemane Jesus surrendered…And He was saying, Abba, [which means] Father, everything is possible for You. Take away this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You [will]. – Mark 14:36

We are able to do the will of God only when we surrender our will. We must willingly surrender our will and give ourselves to Him.

Lord, here we are again today dedicating and consecrating ourselves to you. WE SURRENDER. We give ourselves to you more today than yesterday. Show us your will more clearly today than ever before because we desire to be used for your glory and for your purposes. Jesus, you are our world!

Pray in your own words out of your heart. It doesn’t take long but it will change the rest of your life!
