As a man thinks…

Your brain (more specifically, your mind) is more powerful than you know.

God created us with the ability to reason. To think.

When we experience “new life” through the “new birth” when we are born again, it is not time to turn our mind off.

It is time to meditate on the Word of God and adopt a new way of thinking. God’s way of thinking!

In fact, God says that His ways are higher than our ways. This is not to discourage us but to encourage us to exchange our ways of thinking for His ways of thinking. Thinking on a higher level!

We can think like God thinks because we have His spirit within us. We have a super-natural ability to think good things about ourself and as we do God confirms these thoughts when we read the word of God.

When we read the word of God it is like looking in a mirror. We get a clear picture of how God thinks about us.

Think good about yourself because God thinks good about you.

You were created to win and the first way toward a winning life is to focus on the positive by thinking good about yourself!

A prerequisite to renewing

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] RENEWAL of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. – Romans 12:2 (Amplified Bible)

To renew your mind there must have been some previous INPUT.

The reading and studying of the Word of God is one of the most important life-long tasks that we have on our daily TO-DO list!

You can’t renew your mind to a state that it has never been before, so you must put the Word in your mind so that it can change the way that you think.

The mind is the battlefield. It is where we face the constant attacks of the enemy.

Having a renewed mind is more important in today’s world than it ever has been before!

God has given us the ability through His Word to change the way that we think and to constantly renew our minds to the standard of His word so that we can be effective and successful!

Let’s set our mind and use the Word! God has invested everything in YOU!

Time crunch?

Where does it go???

Ecclesiastes 3:1 – There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.

Psalm 90:12 (New Living Translation) – Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.

We must work hard to gain an understanding of the value of time and how to invest it wisely. It is a job that all of us can get better at. TIME MANAGEMENT!!!!

Do first things FIRST. Give 10% to God — pray, read, study in the morning so that you can follow the direction of the Lord during the day. This is the “ideal” but it requires a real discipline to fulfill. 2 hours and 24 minutes is one tenth of the day…and a lot of the time we fail to spend 2 minutes and 24 seconds!

We pray for wisdom and fail to search for it as if God is supposed to ZAP us with everything we need and all we need to do is GO and DO.

If we want to walk in wisdom we must first invest time seeking wisdom.

Don’t be crunched for time – Put God first – readjust – reprioritize – reprogram and you will see the REsults!

Finding Wisdom

Proverbs 3:13 – Happy is the person who finds wisdom and gains understanding.

Wisdom is not free. In other words, wisdom does not just overtake you one day and from that point on you are wise. You must seek it.

We do not use the word seek very much in our everyday language. But to seek something basically means to stop everything that you are doing to locate an item.

For example, if you lost your car keys and you needed to go to work. What would you do?

Look for your car keys, right?!

The goal of getting to work will not be realized until you first find your car keys.

Wisdom is a key for living life. Without it we can not expect success, honor, riches or anything of significant value.

Let’s stop and go to God’s word and find wisdom. Seek it out and require it as a necessity…for life.

God bless you as you desire and look for wisdom today!
