Filtering of the mind

Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. – Phillipians 4:8

Think on the right things continually, and the wrong things will eventually stay far away!

You control your thoughts.

The word instructs us to think on certain things; everything that is, true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise.

When a thought comes your way, run it through the "Phillipians 4:8 filter". If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t make it in.

The more that you use this filter, the easier and more natural it becomes.

Your mind is strong. Make it work for you not against you.

Use the filter. It’s worth it.

It’s all about someone else!

NEWS FLASH! – It’s not all about YOU!

Does anyone know where the popular phrase "It’s all about me." came from?

Wherever it came from it was motivated by selfishness and pride.

You are alive so that you can preach to others with your life!

You are someone’s answer and help in time of need, TODAY!

When we take our eyes off of ourselves, we can see the needs of others around us.

As we approach the holidays, purposely think about doing something for someone else that does not have the ability or finances to bless you in return.

Move out of the comfort zone and into the compassion of the Lord moving toward others to help meet their need.

It’s all about THEM!

Crawling out from under “overwhelmed”

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.
Mark Twain
American humorist, writer and lecturer. 1835-1910

Overwhelmed?

We all feel it…because:

We are living in overwhelming times…more to do daily than we can possible do in 24 hours.

The pace of life has (and continues) to multiply.

We were born to produce. We desire to see the fruit of our labor.

So, let’s make our mind up to accept the above facts and do the following:

Do NOT complain that you do not have enough time. (It only affects your attitude and those around you.)

Plan your work….and work your plan. Write it down. TO/DO list…

Begin to thank God for stretching and multiplying your time

Give God your time – daily – Personal quiet time with the Lord increases your effectiveness!

You can do it! One step at a time.

Thinking for success

The Lord gave us two ends – one to sit on and the other to think with. Success depends on which one we use the most.
Ann Landers
American advice columnist, 1918-2002

Dress for success will not work until you have learned to think for success first!

One of my favorite verses is Joshua 1:8. It connects thinking and meditating on the Word of God with good success.

We are told what to focus our thinking on, what to meditate upon in our minds and then the direct result…success!

We each have a God-given desire to succeed and to fulfill our purpose for living.

Success begins within. It starts in the mind and heart.

Think on these things…
