Hearing and Hearing

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”

Faith does not come by having heard the Word of God. Heard is past tense.

Hear-ing is a continual thing… something that we must do at all times.

We can not live off of yesterday’s revelation of God, it must be fresh. Just because you heard a good message yesterday does not mean that it is good enough for today.

Joshua 1:8 says that we should continually have the Word of God in our mouth (quoting the Word) and meditating on the Word. Keeping our heart full of God’s Word.

We need to hear God’s Word with the inner ear of our heart louder than all of the external voices of the world!

Keep hearing….and faith will keep coming.

Speak to the problem

Most people speak to God about their problem, when Jesus told us to speak to the problem.

Mark 11:23  “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

Jesus cursed the fig tree and used it as an example to illustrate how powerful faith-filled words are.

Then he turned right around and gave us permission to do the same thing!

(He must have known that we would face “mountains” in our lives.)

Begin to speak to the problems that you are facing. Take the Word of God and use it as a sword against all opposition in your life! Speak to the problem.
