Worry or Thanksgiving

Worry has never produced anything.

Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. – Philippians 4:6 CEV

Just by “living life” there are plenty of opportunities to worry. But each time that we are tempted to worry we need to remember that we also have the opportunity to pray in faith.

Jesus said that worrying never produces anything. (see Matthew 6) Here in this verse in Philippians we are instructed to do something instead of worrying. PRAY in faith about whatever you are tempted to worry about.

When you pray in faith about something you are actually casting that “care” or concern over to the Lord. Also, this verse says that we should pray with thanksgiving. To thank God about what you are praying about signifies that you are believing that He is doing something about what you are praying about. That is faith. Believing that God is involved with your situation the very minute that you ask or make the request. Thanksgiving is powerful and filled with faith!

Let’s make a deal not to worry today. We pass up every opportunity to worry and instead we take every care and concern to the Lord with thanksgiving. We believe that He is doing things that we can not do. He is involved and we need not worry! Thank God!

It’s The Name

Above all other names – Jesus!

Let it be known and understood by all of you, and by the whole house of Israel, that in the name and through the power and authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom you crucified, [but] Whom God raised from the dead, in Him and by means of Him this man is standing here before you well and sound in body. – Acts 4:10 AMP

Peter and John saw the power of God manifested through the Name of Jesus and pointed to this fact. It was so evident that the Rulers and Council Members threatened them not to speak in “that name” any more.

We need a fresh revelation of the power in the Name of Jesus! Then we need to begin to use His Name when we encounter sickness, disease, poverty and lack. Is it any wonder why the devil fights so hard against the name of Jesus? He persuades people to use it in a cursing way and society accepts it as the norm. But when someone uses Jesus name in a public setting as a means of blessing, people cry, “separation of Church and State…”. How much more diabolical can you get?

Our Father God wants the Body of Christ to wake up to the power in the Name of Jesus in this day and this hour. We must point to the One that can heal, save and deliver – TODAY! Use His Name!

Keeping My Mind Stayed

Wandering mind?…no peace?

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. – Isaiah 26:3 AMP

We are promised peace when our mind is “stayed” on the Lord. We don’t use the word “stayed” normally in our modern language. It means: to set, to fix, take hold of, establish, rest self.

How do we set, fix, take hold of, establish and rest our mind on the Lord? With His Word of course! Meditating on the Word of God night and day will cause our minds to be focused and stayed on Him. His Word is an anchor to our soul and causes our lives to be filled with His peace! The more Word, …naturally the more peace.

Fill yourself with God’s word and experience the overflowing of His peace today! He has provided the way for us to walk in His peace.

Soul Troubled

Who hasn’t had soul trouble at one time or another?

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23 NKJV

The solution for soul trouble is guarding your mouth or watching your words. The book of James has some of the best verses for describing just how powerful your words are and how they relate to your “well being”.

In the same way the tongue is a small part of the body, but it can brag about doing important things. A large forest can be set on fire by a little flame. The tongue is that kind of flame. It is a world of evil among the parts of our bodies, and it completely contaminates our bodies. The tongue sets our lives on fire, and is itself set on fire from hell. People have tamed all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and sea creatures. Yet, no one can tame the tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil filled with deadly poison. With our tongues we praise our Lord and Father. Yet, with the same tongues we curse people, who were created in God’s likeness. Praise and curses come from the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, this should not happen! – James 3:5-10 GW

We are responsible for what we say. We can not live the abundant life that Jesus came to provide us and let our mouths run wild with uncontrolled words. We have to grow up and put away childish speech so that we do not experience “soul trouble”. We can control our tongue and our words by the power of the Holy Spirit working in us! Take control…you will be glad that you did.

Need Counsel?

Our knowledge is limited.

However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (COUNSELOR, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. – John 16:7 AMP

Jesus knew that we didn’t know everything that we should that is why He sent the COUNSELOR, the Holy Spirit. If we have been born of His Spirit (Romans 10:9-10) and are filled with His Spirit (Acts 2:4) then we can expect to be in close fellowship with Him – the Holy Spirit. We have a counselor that we have access to 24/7.

We have been asked many questions, by many people, regarding many things and a number of times I have had to say, “I really don’t know that answer.” But we have access to One that knows all things and will show us things to come if we are willing to go to Him, get into His Word and listen for His voice. The Holy Spirit does not go where He is not invited and does not speak unless someone is listening and desires to hear. He is a complete gentleman (never pushing Himself on anyone).

He is available right now if you need counsel…He is our COUNSELOR! Ask Him, He knows.
