Obedience Optional?

At what time in history was obedience ever made optional?

“If you love me, you will obey my commandments” – John 14:15

Obedience is a manifestation of love. You can not truly say that you love God and habitually disobey His word. It just does not work.

Today’s society completely accepts that children have the right to tell their parents what to do and what they are going to do and not going to do. The world around us has protected the right to disobey authority and be OK with it. It is in one word REBELLION.

There is no where in the Bible that gives us the right to disobey God. We do not have the choice to obey or disobey God…IF we love Him. The question then becomes, “Do you love God?”. If so, we will see it in your complete and immediate obedience to His word.

Because He loves us He would never require us to do anything that would hurt us or anyone else. The Word says that His commandments are not grievous or burdensome. Jesus even went so far to say that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He is not a hard taskmaster. Everything that He asks us to do is for our benefit…to help and bless us…and ultimately make us a bigger blessing.

How much would you say today that you love God?

You Hold the Key

You have authority whether you use it or not.

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” – Matthew 18:18 NKJV

Jesus gave us authority to bind and to loose. This is one of the most powerful New Testament principles that we have as born again believers. When we realize this there is no excuse for allowing the enemy any ground in our lives or our families. We are held accountable and must be responsible.

It is always our “move”. There is always something that we can do. We take authority in the Name of Jesus and bind the works of the enemy, the lies of the enemy, the tactics of the enemy and command him to stop, to cease.

God has trusted us with His power, the Name of Jesus and His blood. What more do we need? We just need to begin to discover what we have and then use it, boldly! Resist the devil and he will flee…(play patti-cake and he will surely stay) Get aggressive and stand against him using the authority that you have been given.

Love Wins

Be a winner every time…as you do what love would do.

Love never fails. – 1 Cor. 13:8

God will guarantee our success when we act like He acts. We act like God when we “walk in love”. 1 John 4:7-8 says that God is love and in Ephesians 5:1 we are told to be imitators of God as dear children (act like He acts). When we act like He acts we will experience the same success that He experiences. It is just that simple!

We were made to win, every time. And we can win every time.

Our daily goal should be to win by saying everything that we say in love. Our prayer should be, “Lord show me the right thing to say each and every moment today so that I will constantly manifest the love of God in every situation.” The reason that we do not walk in the love of God more is because we do not expect to. By giving voice to your desire to walk in love, it begins to involve the Lord and the power of His love more in your life. You are opening the door so to speak.

Also, our daily goal should be to win by doing all that do motivated by love. Judging our actions before we act to see if they line up and conform to the love commandment will keep us from losing and failing. We are destined to win as we love like Jesus loves!

Hear and Be Healed

Need healing?

and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. – Luke 5:15

And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases – Luke 6:17

It is time to hear…when you need healing… Hear the words of Jesus the Healer! Most people put more faith in the words of the doctor than they do the One who created them. (and it only produces fear, dread, doubt and unbelief)

Quit listening to the doctor as final authority and begin to read, listen and meditate on the words of Jesus! Proverbs 4 says that the words of God are life to those that find them and health to all of our flesh. Time to feed on the word when you are in need of healing…more than the medicine that the “experts” have prescribed.

Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hearing the Word of God and faith is what is needed when you are believing God for what seems impossible. With God all things are possible…to them that believe.

Hear the Words of Jesus on healing. Believe. Allow those words to fill your mind and heal your body!

Move

Sitting still?…waiting to die?

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die? – 2 Kings 7:3 NKJV

And now the rest of the story…These four lepers got up and went into the city and the Lord supernaturally caused their enemies to flee! They took back all that the enemy stole (and then some) all because they refused to sit around until the died. They got up and went toward the problem and God caused the problem to flee! Action will put the enemy on the run.

It is important that we pray. (most important) But after we pray we must put feet to our faith and get up and move. The power of God could not part the Red Sea until Moses stretched out the rod over the waters. We have a part to play and God can not (and will not) do our part for us.

Do something lest you do nothing. Begin to move toward the answer in faith even if you do not see the end result. God will make a way where it does seem like there is one. (He loves doing the impossible!) Trust Him, obey Him, get up and move. Don’t wait for your life to pass you by, jump up, dust yourself off and get moving. God created us to move and grow and go. He said GO into all the world and preach the Gospel. If you are going to go then you have to rise up and move out. Quitters never win and winners never quit! Keep moving and God will dispel your enemies before your face!
