Great Faith is Tied to Submission to Authority

Recognizing authority and submitting to it is key to great faith!

When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! – Matthew 8:10 NKJV

The centurion in Matthew 8 that recognized the authority of Jesus and the power of His word was greatly rewarded and greatly acknowledged by the Lord. In our attempt to gain great faith and operate in great faith we must realize that it only comes by submission.

Submission has become a word that millions of Christians avoid. They want great faith but do not want to submit to anyone or anything. They want the blessings of God without limits and still want to live their lives without limits. It doesn’t (and never has) work like that. In order to have the power of the words of Jesus working in our lives we must first submit ourselves to God and do what He wants us to do.

We should even go further and submit our spirit, soul and bodies to the Lord to glorify Him in our whole being. He gave all of Himself to us and is only right and just to ask us to give all of ourselves to Him. (Romans 12:1-2) Renewing our minds with His Word, controlling our mouth to speak His word only, putting our bodies under by fasting and continuing steadfastly in prayer are ways to totally submit to His lordship…and experience His power. Great submission, great faith and great power!

Honoring God Honoring People

Do you want to honor God more? then you must honor people.

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? – 1 John 4:20

When we honor, respect and reverence God we are loving Him. If we think that we love God and do not love people we are deceived and need to have the blinders removed.

We must learn how to honor and respect people to fully love God. Another way to say this is that you cannot disrespect and dishonor people and pretend to love God. You may say “You don’t know how much they hurt me…” or “I was abused by my father and I have these issues…it is hard for me to trust…”. There is no excuse for disobeying the Word of God and dishonoring and disrespecting people. The truth is that no one is worthy enough to deserve our respect and honor. We give respect and honor in faith out of respect and honor for God! And when we honor and respect God, He honors and respects us. (1 Sam. 3:20) The more that we honor and respect God the more that He honors and respects us. The greatest way that He honors us is with His presence. More honor, more of His manifest presence in our lives, families and churches. God desires to display His glory but it will only be displayed where He is honored. (Acts 2)

What Are We Thinking?

How much time do you spend “becoming informed” by listening to and watching the news? And, do you think that it has any influence on your faith and trust in God?

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. – Matthew 6:34 AMP

There is a campaign that has been unleashed on the earth through the media. It is a worry and fear campaign designed to steal, kill and destroy. The enemy has been using the media to spread fear and worry for years. They have declared, “Bad news sales!”. So they turn up the volume (so to speak) on the bad news.

It is time that the Body of Christ realize that we are commanded to “seek first the Kingdom of God” in order to be constantly full of faith. The answer to worry and fear is always FAITH IN GOD! Our lives are in Him. He is our source of peace, joy, hope, comfort, strength and all that we need. We need to spend less time listening to the world and more time listening to the WORD. The reason that so many Christians are filled with worry and fear (just like those without God) is that their time and attention  have been on all that is going on in the world. Let’s take a check up on what we are thinking…and bring our minds back over to Romans 12:1 – renewing it with the Word! Renewed minds are guarded with the peace that passes all understanding.

Supernatural Sight

Need to see from faith’s perspective?

For we walk by faith, not by sight. – 2 Corinthians 5:7

We are not limited to our 5 physical senses when we decide to walk by faith. When we trust God with all of our heart and lean not on our understanding faith kicks in and we begin to see things from His perspective… with supernatural sight. We have the ability to see with the eye of faith in order to do the impossible through the power of God.

God designed us to walk in a higher realm where He walks. The walk of faith requires not looking at things the way that they appear outwardly. If we walk and live our lives by the way that things look in the natural realm (judging things after the facts) then we are limited to what we can see. But if we ask God to reveal to us the way that He sees things then He will begin to open our eyes, fill our hearts with faith and we will begin to have a whole new perspective on life. We can do all that God has called us to do when we begin to see things the way that God sees them. He wants to empower us with supernatural sight on a daily basis.

Pleasing God

How do we know for sure that we are pleasing God?

“…without faith it is impossible to please him” – Hebrews 11:6 KJV

Faith is such a misunderstood subject. Most people in the Body of Christ underestimate the importance of faith.  But living a life of faith is the only way that we can truly please God.

“The just shall live by faith.” – Romans 1:17

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” – Hebrews 10:38

The reason that only faith pleases God is because God is a faith God. He calls those things that be not as though they already were. He spoke “light be” before light was. Jesus explained to us how to speak and pray in faith in Mark 11:23-24. We please God when we act like He acts and speak what He speaks. It is a lot more than just positive confession, it is positive believing and positive BEING! Be positive and you will think positive and speak positive.

When Jesus said “With God all things are possible” He wasn’t just trying to give us a one liner that we could make into a bumper sticker. He expected us to do all things through God and that any thing that God directs us to do is possible walking in and by faith.

It is possible to please God at all times as we live by faith. Please God. Live by faith.
