With God

With God there are NO IMPOSSIBILITIES! None at all…nothing means no-thing! God’s promise to Mary in Luke 1 is God’s promise to each one of us in 2011!

“For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” Luke 1:37 AMP

The key is WITH GOD! Don’t ever do anything without God because that is when we run into the wall of impossibility. Walking with God and doing only what He tells us to do will permit us to do things that are impossible with man. Jesus did these type of things during His ministry on the earth and we can do them because He said that the things that He did we should and would do.

He wants us to walk in the realm of the supernatural. He has empowered us with His Spirit to walk in His power to do His will! We can declare as Mary did – let it be with me Lord, according to Your Word!

Get up from your seemingly impossible situation and begin to do what God has told you to do and He will turn the impossibilities into possibilities! He will make a way where it doesn’t seem like there is one. He is on your side and if He is for you, who can stop you?

Give the Lord Something to Work With

Your assignment: GO and PREACH! Jesus is with you to confirm His Word.

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. – Mark 16:20

Yes, God is omnipotent and at the same time chooses to use us to do His work in the earth. He is using His Body in the earth today to preach the Gospel to every creature!

You do not have to have a doctorate of ministry to share the Word of God with someone that is on the wrong road in life. But you must know what you believe and why you believe it. It must be real to you and working in your life. Your experience with Jesus and how He saved you is the most powerful tool that you have to lead others to the Lord. Paul used his “Damascus Road” experience many times in his life. What is real to you will be real to others as you share.

You may never “feel” ready but the truth is the Lord never said, “When you “feel” good and ready then go share the Gospel with others…” We need to be ready at all times to have an answer for anyone that would ask us about this great hope that we have in us! Jesus is the HOPE of GLORY that you and I have! And we are all called to GO and PREACH.

Fig Trees to Mountains

Changing what you can see with what you can’t see. Jesus taught us the power of faith and words when we spoke about the fig tree and the mountain.

Jesus answered them, “I can guarantee this truth: If you have faith and do not doubt, you will be able to do what I did to the fig tree. You could also say to this mountain, ‘Be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. – Matt. 21:21 GW

God created the universe with words and He created man with the power to speak the same words that He spoke to create all that was created. We are created beings created with the ability to create…with our words…as our Creator did. What a deep revelation!

Jesus fully expects us to speak to a mountain (an obstacle) in our way and with faith, trust and confidence SAY – “move out of my way and jump in the sea!”. We were made in His image to do what He did! He did not give us the power so that we could put it up on the shelf and display it when friends and family come over to visit. He wants us to use it. Put it into practice and do something about those challenges that come against us. Pray and say. Believe (don’t doubt) and speak the Word. He guaranteed that it works.

Get Out of the Boat

Desire alone is not enough. Acting on the will of God is what will bring His will to pass in your life.

And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. – Matthew 14:28-29 NKJV

Peter saw Jesus walking on the water and wanted to walk with Him. Somehow he knew that he was created to do the supernatural as Jesus did the supernatural. The desire was there. But he didn’t just stop at the desire he wanted to get in on the ACTION! He could have sat in the boat with the rest of the disciples and been awed at the supernatural power of Jesus to walk on the water and take control over the natural elements.

Before he acted he asked (in a round about way) if he could come and walk on the water with Jesus. He made sure that he was acting on Jesus’ will or His Word. (Many times good meaning Christians begin to act prematurely) Make sure that your actions are in line with the will and the Word of God. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Don’t get out of the boat based on someone else getting out of the boat.

Once you are sure that the Lord has told you to do something, DO IT! Jesus walked on the water. Peter walked on the water. We can do all that the Lord has told us to do. Will you do it?

If You Say So

“Whatever you say can and will be held against you in a court of law…” Words matter.

You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” – Matt. 12:34-37

These words that Jesus spoke are still ringing out over 200o years after He spoke them. Words are more important than we know. We are using more words today than at anytime in the past but communicating less. Humor and sarcasm are rampant which has produced a devaluation of words. Most people don’t mean what they say and don’t value what they say (or anything that is said by anyone else).

We have been led to believe that “talk is cheap” and words are a “dime a dozen”. This is far from the truth.

The words that you speak are an indication of what is in your heart (where your heart is). That is why you can listen to someone speak for five minutes and identify where they are in a spiritual sense. Your words are so powerful that the Word of God says that life and death are in the power of the tongue!

Watch what you say. Analyze your words and make sure that you are speaking life. Make sure that you are not just running your mouth but saying something positive and valuable. Don’t fall into the trap of believing that words don’t matter or that sarcastic humor is acceptable. Remember that your words are the most powerful thing that God has given you.

Heavy Laden or Easy Yoke?

“I am so busy”, “I just don’t have any time”, “I’m stressed out!” These are heard more and more commonly these days. And the sad thing is that it is accepted by most as “honorable”.

Matt. 11:28  Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

Being stressed may be “fad-ish” but it is far from honorable and not the way that God designed us to live. We cannot live long and live strong carrying the weight and the stress of the world! Jesus worked hard doing the will of His Father but never once declared, “I am on the edge of burnout so I must take a vacation and vegetate for a few weeks”.

Jesus wants us to work hard to get the will of God done on the earth but be yoked up with Him so that we don’t become overburdened and stressed out.

If we have allowed ourselves to get stressed out it is because we have failed to get (and stay) yoked up with Jesus! We should be invigorated and energized by our fellowship with Him, drawing our strength from Him to press on and finish our course strong. Learn to wait in His presence until you be endued with power from on high! Take His easy yoke.

Faith Can Be Seen

Faith involves action and can be seen. It is the link between the seen and the unseen.

Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When JESUS SAW THEIR FAITH, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”  – Matthew 9:2 NKJV

Faith sees what cannot be seen with the human eye in order to bring it into the realm of the seen! We walk by faith and not by sight.

Faith is a whole lot more than just positive confession of God’s Word although it involves a positive confession of God’s Word. When we believe something it affects our actions!

Hebrews 11 is full of people of faith that did mighty exploits by faith. They believed something but because they believed something it caused them to do something. We have a lot of “faith talkers” around but far few “faith doers”. It is time that we transfer what we believe into action. Pray in faith and then get up and do something about it.

I am sure glad that the friends of the paralytic were as filled with faith as their bedridden friend. They must have believed that Jesus was healing and that Jesus would heal their friend to go to the lengths they did to get him into the place where Jesus was ministering that day. They showed their faith by their works for sure! Determine to show your faith, do what you can do and God will do what He has promised you that He would do. Why wait?!

Great Faith is Tied to Submission to Authority

Recognizing authority and submitting to it is key to great faith!

When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! – Matthew 8:10 NKJV

The centurion in Matthew 8 that recognized the authority of Jesus and the power of His word was greatly rewarded and greatly acknowledged by the Lord. In our attempt to gain great faith and operate in great faith we must realize that it only comes by submission.

Submission has become a word that millions of Christians avoid. They want great faith but do not want to submit to anyone or anything. They want the blessings of God without limits and still want to live their lives without limits. It doesn’t (and never has) work like that. In order to have the power of the words of Jesus working in our lives we must first submit ourselves to God and do what He wants us to do.

We should even go further and submit our spirit, soul and bodies to the Lord to glorify Him in our whole being. He gave all of Himself to us and is only right and just to ask us to give all of ourselves to Him. (Romans 12:1-2) Renewing our minds with His Word, controlling our mouth to speak His word only, putting our bodies under by fasting and continuing steadfastly in prayer are ways to totally submit to His lordship…and experience His power. Great submission, great faith and great power!

Storm Proof Life

Storms come but they do not have to destroy you.

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. – Matthew 7:24-25 NKJV

You can determine today to never ever be destroyed by a storm again. The Lord has given us a way to live a storm proof life. He has given us the responsibility to protect our lives from destruction. Many times we pray for Him to protect us from calamity but we need to understand that walking in His Word is so powerful. By conducting our lives according to His Word and becoming a “doer” of the Word of God we will stand strong against any and every storm…and continue standing after the storm passes!

Declare yourself as a DOER of the Word today (and everyday from now on!). Commit to do everything that you see in His Word, immediately. He has given us a rock to build our houses upon.

No matter how many storms you have been through and how many times your house has fallen from storm damage, you can begin today to build a fortress on the ROCK by doing the sayings of Jesus. Make His Word first place in your life and others will see your “storm proof life” and begin to ask “how can I do what you have done?”

It’s all about doing the sayings of Jesus!

When You Fast

Jesus said WHEN you fast, not IF you fast.

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. – Matthew 6:16-18 NKJV

Fasting should be as common as giving and praying according to Jesus. Just study Matthew 6. He wants His body to fast. He fasted and it was a part of His lifestyle!

Fasting can be a tough subject for Christians who have never fasted because it deals with the flesh and sacrifice. There are many wrong ideas about fasting that have evolved from many wrong teachings on the subject. The bottom line in fasting is to say NO to your flesh in order to say YES to your spirit and hear from God.

We should be so accustomed to fasting that we are consistently asking the Lord, “do you want me to fast something right now?”. It should be a lifestyle with us. We should live so connected to the Lord that we are willing to give up anything at anytime in order to spend more time in fellowship with Him.
