All Together Now

Being “in sync” allows us to produce a harmony. When we are pursuing and aiming at peace we are walking in unity and fulfilling the will of our Father.

Rom 15:6 …that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The church began in unity. Acts Chapter 2 uses the phrase “in one accord” to signify that the believers that were gathered in the upper room were not just in the same room but that they were united in heart and in mind. It is not enough to just be in the same place at the same time.

You can be under the same roof and be miles and miles apart.

If we are to mature in the Lord we must prefer one another and adjust in our relationships to the point that we experience a unity. The more unity that we experience, the more of God’s power we will see flowing through our homes and churches. Every adjustment we make and every time that we choose to prefer others it is worth the effort that it takes. Walking in love translates to HARMONY and UNITY! God has not called us to be self-serving (alone) but to serve (united with the body of Christ).

Psalms 133:1 NKJV – Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Live to Give

What are you living for?

Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) – Titus 2:14 (AMP)

God gave because love gives…and God is love. (1 John 4:7-8) Because we are born of God we have that same purpose for living, to give. Giving is the essence of living. You will not be totally satisfied in life until you begin to give.

The life that you are now living was given to you by God and it is not too much for Him to ask us to give our lives for others. The ultimate gift and the ultimate act of giving was when Jesus went willing to the cross and gave His life on our behalf in order to redeem us. He gave EVERYTHING for you.

Now He is calling us to live our lives in order to give to Him by being a blessing to others. We have the ability to give because He lives in us. We are designed to give because we were designed to imitate our Father.

We have to settle the issue of our purpose for living in order to make the biggest impact that we can make with the rest of the minutes, hours and days that we have left on this earth.

Focus on the life of Jesus and what He gave to us, then allow that life of love to flow out of you and give.

not the gifts THE Gift

In this Age of Consumerism, how much is enough? When do you have enough “things”?

Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [ His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]! – 2 Corinthians 9:15 AMP

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; -Ephesians 2:8 AMP

Where is the focus of your Christmas?

Do this, do that, go here, go there, buy this and that for this one and that one…spend time, effort and money trying to make the season jolly…but where is Jesus in your Christmas? How much of what we do is done because we are expected to do it?

Have you worshipped Him today? For who He is and not what He can give to you?

He is THE Gift of all time, given by our Heavenly Father to us to “unwrap” and discover the exceeding riches of His grace toward us. Only spending time with our Savior brings the peace, love and joy that we need to live a satisfying life. Giving and receiving gifts means nothing without the focus on THE Gift, Christ Jesus!

Don’t fall short by focusing on the gifts (plural) but focus on THE GIFT – our Lord, Jesus Christ! He is our everything. Worship Him.

Mashed Peas In a Jar

Gerber is good when you are one year old. But come on…”I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.” – 1 Corinthians 3:2 KJV

Ask a teenager if they would like to trade their hamburger for a jar of Gerber peas. Their response, “No way! What are you thinking?” What an insult to someone that has grown out of the baby food days. Paul’s words to the Church at Corinth were stout to say the very least. In our modern day speech he was saying, “OK guys, I have preached the very simple things and nothing deep yet because you are not able to take it. And by the way you are still not able to hear what I want to say. You need to grow up and quit acting like babies.”

Paul was insistent that Christians grow up. Most Pastors are fine with people showing up once and a while and remaining babies (as long as they tithe and give in the building fund!) Church attendance (twice a month), tithing and giving are not the same as growing up spiritually. Of course growing spiritually is reflected in your church attendance, tithing and giving. But we have people who have been going to church and not growing in God! Time to leave the mashed peas in a jar for a juicy steak, huh? Get ready to eat!

He Healed Them ALL

Jesus never turned anyone away that needed healing. When they came to Him believing, they were healed. To get a clear picture of the will of God for physical healing we must look at the ministry of Jesus while He was here on this earth.

“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” – Acts 10:38 NKJV

Just go through the Gospels and look up the scriptures that refer to Jesus healing and you will notice the use of the word ALL. ALL means all…everyone there at that time. This is consistent with the Word of God in other places that reveal God’s character as a giver. He loves and He gives to ALL. (James 1 says that He gives liberally!) God loves to give and withholds nothing from those that love Him and reach out in faith.

The enemy comes to us with thoughts that we are the exception and that God is withholding His healing power, but glory to God, Jesus came to heal ALL that were oppressed by the devil! You are part of that group of people called ALL! Know that God loves you TODAY, and that He sent Jesus to earth to take stripes upon His back for your healing TODAY! All means all! He healed them ALL. (that means you!)
