Just Think of Him

Posted by Pastor Bruce on February 25, 2010

Receive more grace for your race.

Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. [Ps. 110:1.] JUST THINK OF HIM Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds. – Hebrews 12:1-3 AMP

Considering Jesus and what He did for us will quickly bring us up and out of any pity party! Verse 3 of Hebrews 12 says to think of Him so that we will not grow weary or exhausted…faint in our minds…

We must remember that He did all that He did (endured the shame of the cross) because of the joy that was set before Him. He empowers us with that same joy as we look to Him who is the author and finisher of our faith. That joy of the Lord is our very strength and He is the very source of our faith. God will do exceedingly abundantly above anything that we can ask or think ACCORDING TO the power that is at work within us! Let His power work within you today as you think about Him and consider what He did for you and realize that He lives in you!

New Day, New Grace

Posted by Pastor Bruce on October 28, 2009

This day never existed before. “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.” – Lamentations 3:22-25 NKJV

One version of the Bible says “His mercies have no limit.” This means that they are endless, renewed every morning! Is grace and mercy are upon us. Each day there is a new challenge that requires a new grace.

We have the opportunity to walk in a deeper measure of His grace each day. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” – Ephesians 3:20 NKJV We either permit or deny God the access He needs to manifest and show His grace and mercy in our life.

When we face the day saying and believing, “The Lord is my portion and His grace is sufficient for me today!” then God is able to make all grace abound toward us for that day. We hold the key through our faith, trust, choice and obedience. Let’s make the choice today to walk in the specific grace for this day! This day is special and God has something great and special for us today! Tap into His grace.

God’s Favorite

Posted by Pastor Bruce on October 19, 2008

I believe that without a doubt you are God’s favorite!

(The Word of God explains that God is not a respecter of persons or in other words He doesn’t prefer one above the other…so we can all safely say that we are individually “His favorite”.)

But, when God speaks to you personally He calls you His favorite. You are special and precious to Him. He gave His all for you.

The Psalmist wrote…Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings -Psalm 17:8 (NKJV)

We are all the apple of His eye and His favorite. He is looking out for our best and is working all things together for our good. He believes in us and has great faith in us.

The Lord loves you with an everlasting love and calls you His very favorite.
