Outgrow the Shoe

Ever heard “If the shoe fits, wear it”?…

We say, “If the shoe fits, OUTGROW IT!” Change is the goal of every maturing Christian. In order to change we have do two things:

Identify, where we are

Move, to where we should be

The “change agent” is the Holy Spirit. He is ready, willing and able to assist us in every change that we need to make in our lives.

Zechariah 4:6 NKJV -… ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.’

The truth is that we can NOT make the necessary changes in our lives with out the express help of the Holy Spirit. We must totally depend on Him to show us what to change and when.

Your weaknesses are no excuse to stay weak. As long as you follow the Holy Spirit you are able to destroy every crutch that you have leaned on in the past.

God has not called you to stay where you are but to come up higher, go farther and do more today than you did yesterday. You CAN outgrow the shoe!

Pleasing God

How do we know for sure that we are pleasing God?

“…without faith it is impossible to please him” – Hebrews 11:6 KJV

Faith is such a misunderstood subject. Most people in the Body of Christ underestimate the importance of faith.  But living a life of faith is the only way that we can truly please God.

“The just shall live by faith.” – Romans 1:17

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” – Hebrews 10:38

The reason that only faith pleases God is because God is a faith God. He calls those things that be not as though they already were. He spoke “light be” before light was. Jesus explained to us how to speak and pray in faith in Mark 11:23-24. We please God when we act like He acts and speak what He speaks. It is a lot more than just positive confession, it is positive believing and positive BEING! Be positive and you will think positive and speak positive.

When Jesus said “With God all things are possible” He wasn’t just trying to give us a one liner that we could make into a bumper sticker. He expected us to do all things through God and that any thing that God directs us to do is possible walking in and by faith.

It is possible to please God at all times as we live by faith. Please God. Live by faith.

Live to Give

What are you living for?

Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) – Titus 2:14 (AMP)

God gave because love gives…and God is love. (1 John 4:7-8) Because we are born of God we have that same purpose for living, to give. Giving is the essence of living. You will not be totally satisfied in life until you begin to give.

The life that you are now living was given to you by God and it is not too much for Him to ask us to give our lives for others. The ultimate gift and the ultimate act of giving was when Jesus went willing to the cross and gave His life on our behalf in order to redeem us. He gave EVERYTHING for you.

Now He is calling us to live our lives in order to give to Him by being a blessing to others. We have the ability to give because He lives in us. We are designed to give because we were designed to imitate our Father.

We have to settle the issue of our purpose for living in order to make the biggest impact that we can make with the rest of the minutes, hours and days that we have left on this earth.

Focus on the life of Jesus and what He gave to us, then allow that life of love to flow out of you and give.

Focus On Yourself

Mind your own business.

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others. – 1 Thess. 4:11-12 NLT

Know anyone that is “up in everyone’s business”? Always looking at others instead of themselves? Knowing the latest gossip about everyone around them.

The Word is very plain that we really have no time on our hands to examine the lives of others. We should “invest” what precious time that we have to conforming our life to the life of Christ and growing up into Him in all things and all areas.

If we would spend the time that we talk about others to others with studying the Word of God how much more spiritually mature would we become? There is so much to do and yet so little time to do it that we need to focus on ourselves and give our attention to the Word of God (Joshua 1:8) day and night meditating the Word in order to do it…

God will not hold us accountable for what other people do, but He will certainly hold us accountable for how we spend our own time. Are we spending our days, hours and minutes wrapped up in others lives, or are we seeking the Lord with all of our heart and doing what He is telling us to do constantly?

Determine that your life counts and that it is the most important thing that you should be focusing on today. Stop looking at the lives of others and talking about others…mind your own business, do what God has called you to do quickly and quietly.

Soul Troubled

Who hasn’t had soul trouble at one time or another?

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23 NKJV

The solution for soul trouble is guarding your mouth or watching your words. The book of James has some of the best verses for describing just how powerful your words are and how they relate to your “well being”.

In the same way the tongue is a small part of the body, but it can brag about doing important things. A large forest can be set on fire by a little flame. The tongue is that kind of flame. It is a world of evil among the parts of our bodies, and it completely contaminates our bodies. The tongue sets our lives on fire, and is itself set on fire from hell. People have tamed all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and sea creatures. Yet, no one can tame the tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil filled with deadly poison. With our tongues we praise our Lord and Father. Yet, with the same tongues we curse people, who were created in God’s likeness. Praise and curses come from the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, this should not happen! – James 3:5-10 GW

We are responsible for what we say. We can not live the abundant life that Jesus came to provide us and let our mouths run wild with uncontrolled words. We have to grow up and put away childish speech so that we do not experience “soul trouble”. We can control our tongue and our words by the power of the Holy Spirit working in us! Take control…you will be glad that you did.
