Catch Up or Clean Up

“I would rather play catch up to God than clean up.” Timing is vitally important in walking out the plan of God in your life.

A man’s steps are of the LORD; How then can a man understand his own way? – Proverbs 20:24 NKJV

We should not beĀ  paralyzed by fear of making a “wrong” move but yet not so quick to plow ahead without “peace”. Our communication with God is key in receiving direction. We should not expect to “be led” without spending the necessary time that we need to know in our “knower” (spirit) that we are taking the step that God wants us to take WHEN He wants us to take it.

Spending time in prayer is never wasted time even though not every time in prayer is what we would consider productive. I remember one time going to prayer with my Bible, notebook and pen in hand expecting to God to speak. After all He knew that I needed an answer and quick. Before I begin to pray the presence of the Lord came upon me like a thick, heavy blanket. I could not move as I sensed the awesome presence of the Lord so strong. I began to speak and could not…so I dared not. I stood for one hour holding my Bible, notebook and pen. After over a hour I sensed the presence of the Lord lift and I asked the Lord, “What was that all about?” No sooner than I asked Him this question He answered, “I just wanted to see if you would wait in My presence.” Wow, I learned alot that day. It is just as important what you don’t do in prayer as what you do. Be sensitive and allow God to speak to you. Be ready to write it down when He does. And you are only responsible to do what He has asked you to do, nothing more and nothing less. Be led.

Spiritual Discernment

Trying to “wrap your mind around” something spiritual? …You may hurt yourself.

1 Cor. 2:14 – But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

We need more spiritual discernment and less “opinions”. Allowing the Spirit of God to reveal the things of God to us requires time in His presence and His Word.

Our lives should not be based on what we “think” is right for us. We should know what God wants us to do and then DO IT. Knowing what God wants you to know is the key to being equipped with the right plan and it comes directly from His Spirit. Instead of going to the phone, go to His Throne! Like Jer. 33:3 says – call unto Him and He will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you are not yet aware of. He desires to reveal things to us but most of the time we are looking in the wrong places.

Being spiritually “keen” does not come overnight. It requires training. Spiritual training in the School of the Holy Spirit. Learn about Him and spend time with Him. He will show you all that God has given you and lead you every step of the way!

Pray Not Faint

Feeling faint?

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; – Luke 18:1 (KJV)

When we reach out in faith and begin believing God for something that He has promised us the number one thing that the enemy wants us to do is to give up, give in, faintĀ and quit. He knows that if we stay in faith and operate patience that we will receive the promise of God everytime! (Heb 10:36)

We must continue to thank God each time that we think about what we have prayed and believed that we receive. (Mark 11:24) The “you shall have them” time will take “some time”…it could be a day or it could be a year. The time part is not in your control and should not affect your “standing in faith”.

The way not to faint is to “keep the switch of faith ON” like Abraham.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. – Romans 4:19-21 (KJV)

Giving glory to God is the same as thanking God for the answer before you see things change in the natural realm. The highest kind of prayer is worshipping God for who He is in your life and every situation in your life! If you are feeling faint, don’t sit down or lay down stand up throw your head back and praise God with every bit of strength that you have left. God will begin to strengthen you with His might and you will be made strong in faith!

Torn Veil, Access Granted!

You may enter now…

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, – Matthew 27:51

When Jesus gave Himself in the crucifixion He opened the door to the Holy of Holies. There was a manifestation in the natural realm (world) and the spiritual realm (world), the earth quaked and the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom. That act of obedience forever opened the door to the heart of our Father God.

We have access to the very presence of God whenever we choose to enter. Jesus sacrifice and His blood provides access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. God has an “open door policy”.

Few people understand and believe this and even fewer people actually act on this and take full advantage of this supernatural access.

We live in a day where people will stand in line for hours on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) to burst through the doors of a store to get 30% off of their big ticket item (while knocking down everyone in their way)…And others will pay their friends money to wait in line to get in the door to buy tickets for the greatest concert in the world. With all this rush and passion to get something that is really worth nothing…we have access to the very riches of heaven but refuse to take advantage of the the access that Jesus has provided. Most would rather be satisfied with the trinkets of the world than the treasures of heaven.

Quit waiting for God to do something for you and go boldly into His Throne Room through the blood of Jesus to obtain grace and help in time of need. The door is forever open!

Wake Up

The Church is waking up!

Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. [Isa. 26:19; 60:1, 2.] Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), – Ephesians 5:14-15 AMP

We must realize what time it is and wake up! Quit hitting the “snooze button” and get out of the bed.

Jesus is depending on us to do our part as His Body and begin to move toward the sick and lost. Have compassion on people and stretch out our hands to give help, healing and hope!

As these verses state we need to examine the way that we are living so that we are living with purpose. Also, we need to make sure that we are doing the Word and not just hearing it. Allow the Word to purge us and cleanse us in order to bear more fruit. We must put a premium on doing the Word in these days. But in order to do the Word you must first know the Word. Be students of the Word as 2 Timothy 2:15 says in order that we be not ashamed so that we can do the Word (James 1:22 and Joshua 1:8)

Let’s not let the Lord find us sleeping on the job (as He did when He asked a few of His disciples to pray just outside the garden of Gethsemane)…we need to wake up, look at the clock, stir up the gift in us and be about our Father’s business!
