More Than Necessary Food

What are you eating today?
I have not gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed and treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. – Job 23:12 AMP
The value of the Word of God is beyond comparison. Job tried to compare it when he said that he treasured the Word of God more than his necessary food. Most doctors and nutritionist state that the average person can live about 4 to 6 weeks without food. And most people eat at least three times a day!
Why would we starve ourselves from the Word of God? Why would we allow ourselves to go one day without taking in the “Word of Life”?
We haven’t seen the value of the Word of God as we should. One way to begin to recognize the value is to begin to confess things such as, “God’s Word is life to me and I esteem His Word more than anything else!” and “The Word of God is increasing in my life and my desire is after His Word. I have a supernatural hunger for God’s Word and His righteousness and I am filled!”
We can make God’s Word the most important thing in our lives if we decide to. Once we decide to we must continually declare it by speaking it, “God’s Word is the most important thing in this world to me!” Then there will come a point that we will say like Job that I treasure His Word more than my necessary food!
