Truth is Not Subjective

God is not out to win a popularity contest.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. – John 14:6 NKJV

Your opinion is just that. Jesus is THE way, THE truth and THE life. THE END.

In a day where society is groping for absolutes, people have failed to go to the source of truth, the Word of God. The Word of God stands forever as the truth and it never changes. Aren’t we glad?! We can count on it and count on God for being faithful and consistent. The more chaotic the world becomes the more that we need the truth in our lives.

We must build our house on the truth of God’s Word and speak the truth at all times so that we continue to stand. It is easier to recognize a lie when you are vitally united with the truth.

We are not called to argue the Bible or prove our faith, instead we are called to believe the truth, speak the truth and build our lives upon truth.

Jesus is the truth and it matters not what anyone else says.

No Lie

The church has been influenced by the world in the area of integrity and honesty.

So then, get rid of lies. Speak the truth to each other, because we are all members of the same body. – Ephesians 4:25 GW

The society in which we live says that it is alright to tell a “white lie” in order to protect yourself when needed. God’s word does not make provision for any type of lie. (white, gray, striped or polka dotted!)

During the current series “GROW” we are learning that one of the key marks of a mature Christian is that they “speak the truth”. Growing up will include the ability to control our tongue (like the book of James teaches) and speaking the truth ALL the time.

The truth sets you free but a lie binds, steals, kills and destroys. Remember that the devil is a liar and the father of all lies. There is nothing more satanic and diabolic than a lie. Lying will render the blessing of God ineffective in your life and will affect your growth in a negative way.

We must decide to put away lying and speak the truth in love in order to grow up spiritually. Here are some scriptures to study on truthfulness.

1 Peter 2:21-22, Ephesians 4:25, Proverbs 6:16-19, John 8:32, Psalms 119:29, 163

God is looking for a people who are true to their word and speak only the truth in love. Are you one of those?

voices

There are many voices speaking many things these days. What voice are you listening to? WHOSE voice are you obeying?

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. – John 10:27 NKJV

Jesus, the Good Shepherd is speaking today. He is speaking to you and wants to tell you and show you things that will allow you to walk in the abundant life that He has made available.

Can you hear Him? Do you have ears to hear? Are you tuned in to W.O.R.D.?

There is only one voice that we should follow, one voice that speaks the truth all the time. The voice of Jesus is the only voice that we should be listening to. Tune off the world and every strange voice, tune in to His voice…listen carefully, intently…

He is speaking, let’s listen….

Real Relationships

We have perfected the ability to be fake and false in our relationships.

This began in the garden of Eden with Adam and God. After Adam ate of the fruit from the wrong tree.

God knew what had happened and confronted Adam in hope that Adam would admit to the wrong doing. Instead Adam blamed his wife and God when he said, “the woman that you gave me, she gave me to eat.”

We need real relationships today, a revival of truth.

Relationships that are based on truth out last the test of every challenge and time. I believe that God is wanting us to examine our relationships in order to take inventory of the things that we need to change.

Let’s get real, with ourselves, with God and with each other. Experience the freedom that only the truth can bring.

The Truth

I attended a meeting last week that was attended by 150 others regarding social marketing. The presenter had some good points about creating a community.

This presentation was not “religious” in nature, at all. No mention of God, not even a reference.

During the hour presentation there was one thing that stuck with me. It floored me when I heard it said, “PEOPLE WANT THE TRUTH!”

I almost jumped out of my chair and ran around the room. YES! …PEOPLE WANT THE TRUTH!

It was also said that people are tired of being lied to and taken advantage of. Most of the sales force in the retail world are taught to ask, “Can I assist you?” but actually they mean, “Can you buy something from me to help me meet my goals?”

We must get back to the truth, seek the truth, speak the truth, love the truth and act on the truth!

We will not experience the freedom that God designed us to walk in until we get back to the truth!

Get it…
