God Knows What You Don’t

Posted by Pastor Bruce on March 5, 2010

Are you in a place where you need to know something?

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. – James 1:5-6 NKJV

As much as you know, you do not know it all and you need wisdom…daily. God is the God of all wisdom. He knows all and wants to reveal things to us! This is great news!

We do not have to walk around in the dark and stumble. We can know what to do at all times.

We must ask God for His wisdom in faith and expect to receive direct, divine revelation from our Heavenly Father!

If you are dealing with a challenge or circumstance that you have no idea how overcome and exit victoriously, ASK GOD FOR WISDOM! Expect to hear His voice, follow the guide (the mighty Holy Spirit!).

God desires that you walk in His wisdom and counsel. Not only does He desire for you to walk in His ways and His wisdom, He has opened the door and has invited you to ask.

Ask and receive. Spend time with Him and He will show you things to come. He will speak to you and settle every issue that you are dealing with. He already knows what you need to know!

Bite Your Tongue

Posted by Pastor Bruce on March 2, 2010

Eating your words is not a fun thing to do.

Proverbs 29:20

(AMP) Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a [self-confident] fool than for him.

(BBE) Have you seen a man who is quick with his tongue? There is more hope for a foolish man than for him.

(CEV) There is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking.

(GW) Have you met a person who is quick to answer? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

(NKJV) Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

One problem that everyone of us deals with is OUR TONGUE. The book of James talks a lot about the power of the tongue and the fact that what we say will direct our lives. (Read James for a great source of help in this area!)

We should practice the discipline of thinking before speaking but in a lot of instances we are way too quick to speak without thinking. Someone said, “make sure that your words are sweet because you will eat them”, and this is true.

If you have been too hasty to speak in the past just determine today that you will begin to “bite your tongue” (for the count of 10) before you say anything. Instead of talking so much learn how to ask other people questions and listen to what they say. Learning how to listen is the cure for talking too much. Don’t be a fool, hold your peace, bite your tongue and enjoy the results.

Spirit Filled, Spirit Led

Posted by Pastor Bruce on February 12, 2010

How full are you?

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, – Ephesians 5:18 NKJV

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. – Romans 8:14 NKJV

We are able to be led by the Spirit of God to the degree that we are filled by the Spirit of God. If you are wandering around not knowing where to go or how to get there, get full of the Spirit of God! BE FILLED!

We are instructed to walk in the spirit and not after the flesh. I have found in my own life that it is so much easier to walk in the spirit when I am filled with the Spirit of God. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not a once in a lifetime occurrence. There is one initial infilling but many subsequent refillings. The number one way to be refilled is to enter into the presence of God and yield yourself the very same way that you first received the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Reach up to God and out in faith, begin to worship Him from the heart and in other tongues and out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water that will refresh and renew you!

As you are full of the Holy Spirit expect to become more sensitive to His voice and leading. He desires to show you which way to go and what steps to take! Stay filled with Him and direction comes much easier.

The Right Side

Posted by Pastor Bruce on January 6, 2010

Have you been casting your net on the wrong side of the boat?

So Jesus said to them, Boys (children), you do not have any meat (fish), do you? [Have you caught anything to eat along with your bread?] They answered Him, No! And He said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find [some]. So they cast the net, and now they were not able to haul it in for such a big catch (mass, quantity) of fish [was in it]. – John 21:5-6 AMP

Good news,…there is a right side to your boat and Jesus knows which side is the RIGHT side! Our job is to be attentive to His voice and find out which side is the right side. To do this we have to slow down long enough to listen to the voice of Jesus.

God will never force His will upon us, we must be willing to “stop, drop and pray” all the time. We walk in our limited knowledge while He knows all things (including the side of the boat where there are many fish just waiting to be caught). Spending time with Him to find out the right side will not cost you time but save you time in the long run. It can also cause you to bear much fruit (and quickly!). So don’t be discouraged by the lack of fish in your boat and the fact that you have been fishing all night with no catch…listen to the Lord and He will tell you which side of the boat is the right side! Get your nets ready though because it will be a BIG CATCH!

Built Solid

Posted by Pastor Bruce on December 4, 2009

Going through a storm?

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. – Matthew 7:24-25 NKJV

Some storms you can avoid and others you can’t but it doesn’t matter when you have built your house on the rock! Preparation for the storm is key. What you do before the wind picks up and begins to blow. Before the rain starts to beat down and the flood waters rise. Your foundation is most important. It will be the determining factor in whether or not your house will be standing when the storm is over. (Isn’t it a comforting thought to know that the storm will not last forever?!)

The only way that we can be sure that we make it out of the storm on the other side (without losing everything that we have) is by being wise and building on the right foundation. BE A DOER of the Word of God! Find out what the Word says on a daily basis and do it! Quick to obey what Jesus said to do assures us of making it through every storm. You can do it, don’t look at the past, start today and build on the rock. Do the Word and don’t worry about the storm,…it came to pass!

You Know

Posted by Pastor Bruce on August 11, 2009

Move from “I don’t know” to “I KNOW” by believing 1 John 2:20 But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things. [AMP]

We have been graced by God with His Holy Spirit that clues us in to all things. In James the Bible says that if any of us lacks wisdom, let them (us) ask God for it. (believing and not doubting) We will receive it and move from a “know not” to a “know so”.

In this hour we must depend on the God that created the Heavens and Earth to give us insight so that we can live in victory. You can know if you ask and depend on the Spirit of God living on the inside of you. Say, “I know!” instead of “I don’t”

Me, a farmer?

Posted by Pastor Bruce on July 15, 2009

You are a farmer! That’s right! You are planting for your future…with your mouth! The big question of the day is “WHAT are you planting?”

The reason that this is important is because you will eat what you say.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. -Luke 6:45 NKJV

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. – Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

Love what?…love life or death… you can be identified by the words that you speak. You are either speaking life or death and will eat the fruit of the seed you are sowing.

Your words produce whether you know it, believe it or even care. It is a super-natural law…and it is working right this minute!

You are a farmer! Make sure that you are sowing the right seed to produce the desired harvest!

The Word of God becomes a Word from God

Posted by Pastor Bruce on June 22, 2009

Everyone that does something great for God always hears the voice of God. Just study it out for yourself.

You can hear the voice of God…Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. -Jeremiah 33:3 – KJV” God invites us to ask Him to speak to us.

We are extremely big on “getting into the Word of God” and “letting the Word get into you”…but we have to let the Word of God become a word from God himself to us personally before there is enough understanding in our heart that we act on it.

Joshua 1:8 – This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

We have everything to do with hearing the voice of God. God is not in the habit of knocking people off of a horse to speak to them…(notice that I did not say that He never does this…because He did with Saul..who became the Apostle Paul) BUT most of the time we must put ourselves in a place for God to speak to us. We have to seek Him before our ears are inclined to hear His instruction.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you! For sure! Let His Word become a Word from Him to YOU!

If…

Posted by Pastor Bruce on April 26, 2009

You will recieve His Word…

Proverb 2:1-5  My son, IF you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you, Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it]; Yes, IF you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, IF you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures, Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.

Just look at what the word of God will do in your life IF you receive them, treasure them make your ear attentive to them, seek wisdom, etc.

These great promises of God come with a condition. …IF

We are responsible, we have a part to play. God has done His part by providing His wisdom to us…we have to do our part by receiving it and putting into practice in our 24/7/365 lives.

The benefits are totally supernatural!
